Whereas we must never seek platforms at the opportunity cost of the truth, we must never despise or think we do not need platforms.
It is ignorance to think so.
The ministry God has given you needs platforms.
Acts 18:24-25 KJV
And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
[25] This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
Apollos had a little light, and he walked in the same to the much he could. His capacity was more than his knowledge. And God blessed him by bringing a supernatural relationship to him in Aquila and pricillia.
Acts 18:26 KJV
And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them , and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
Now he had become a better minister, and had more to offer the church. However, he needed a platform to do so. Aquila and Pricillia knew this and paved way for it for him, by recommendation.
Acts 18:27-28 KJV
And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:
[28] For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
Halleluia!
The statement “..who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:” is priceless. Thanks to God for the platform he was given.
Apollos continued to be blessed with platforms, and his gift of ministry reached so many, that he gained mention among the greatest of apostles of the faith; as Paul.
1 Corinthians 3:4-6 KJV
For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
[5] Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
[6] I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
This is so inspiring. I mean, this is Apostle Paul, and this is the same Apollos!
See, the more you know and have to bless the saints with, the more platforms you need in the faith community. We should never despise platforms, but rather pray for it, and be cautious about it.
I have seen young ministers say they don’t need anyone’s platform, and they were saying it on a platform given to them by another!
Are you a minister, with a clear view of what God has called you to do in the faith community, seek more training and development in the same, and pray for platforms to reach as many as possible in the community.
However, do not seek it at the expense of the truth. And if you have a church or a work, do not see any platform on earth greater than your own, your numerical strength and inadequacies not withstanding. Your own work is your greatest platforms. Do not EVER despise or jeopardize it for another’s
God has blessed you.
Have a Blessed Weekend!
